Who you are dealing with
Hooray Kits is a small independent site operated from the United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@hooraykits.com, and a person reads it rather than a ticket queue.
Payments are taken by Stripe, who act as the seller of record and handle VAT wherever you are. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach this site.
What is free and what is not
Making a kit, sharing the link and collecting messages is free, with no cap on how many messages you collect and no time limit. £5.99 once per kit unlocks Hooray Plus for that kit: the full Reveal, the printable booklet, the cover choice, and the recordings people left. One payment, one kit, no subscription and nothing that renews.
The messages belong to the people who wrote them
Whoever writes a message owns what they wrote. Whoever records a clip owns their recording. By adding either to a kit you are giving the organiser permission to show it to the person it is for, print it, and keep it. We claim nothing, we never use anyone's words or voice for anything else, and we never sell or share them.
The organiser can delete any message or recording from their wall at any time. If you wrote something and want it removed, ask the organiser, or email us and we will remove it.
What you must not put in a kit
Nothing unlawful, nothing that harasses or threatens anyone, nothing that impersonates someone, and nothing you do not have the right to share. Kits are private and unindexed, but private is not a licence. We can remove content and close an account that breaks this, and we will if it comes to it.
Recordings
Recording is optional and nobody is ever required to do it. Your browser asks your permission before the microphone is touched, and nothing is captured until you press record. A clip is at most twenty seconds and is stored with the kit it belongs to. It is deleted when the message is deleted.
Your right to change your mind
The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content and get your money back. Because Plus unlocks immediately, you are asked at checkout to agree that you want it straight away and understand that this ends the 14 day right once it has unlocked.
We do not think much of using that as a shield for six pounds, so the refund policy is more generous than the law requires. If it did not work, you get your money back.
What we do not promise
We cannot promise the site will never be down or that no bug will ever appear. If something goes wrong on a day that mattered, tell us and we will make it right as far as we are able, which in practice means fixing it, refunding you, or both. We are not liable for anything beyond what you paid. Nothing here removes rights you have under UK consumer law.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot bear to lose. Every kit has a download button that gives you all the messages as a text file, free, at any time.
Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like and everything in it goes with it. We would only close an account for the reasons listed above, and we would tell you why.
The boring part
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we change them, the date at the top changes, and a change never applies backwards to a kit you have already paid for.
